Older adults with type 1 diabetes had higher rates of undiagnosed obstructive coronary artery disease and total obstructive CAD than those without diabetes, according to a study in the Journal of Diabetes and its Complications. Norwegian researchers analyzed 148 adults with and without diabetes and found an association between undiagnosed obstructive CAD and mean A1C, and an inverse correlation between absent CAD and mean LDL cholesterol.
