A study in JAMA Internal Medicine found people have a 14% higher risk of early death for every 10% increase in ultraprocessed foods they consume. Data showed ultraprocessed foods accounted for about 29% of total calories consumed and consumption was tied to younger age, lower income and educational levels, living alone, higher body mass index and less physical activity.
