Real-world data from 363 patients, presented at the American Diabetes Association annual meeting, show use of Abbott's FreeStyle Libre continuous glucose monitoring system was associated with a significant reduction of almost 1% in A1C levels in certain adult type 2 diabetes patients after at least three months. The patients, who had taken insulin multiple times daily for more than eight years on average, had an average A1C level of 8.0% after device use, compared with 8.9% prior.
