Study: Healthful midlife diet not linked to lower dementia risk

A study with a median follow-up period of almost 25 years found a higher-quality diet in midlife was not significantly linked to a lower future risk of dementia, compared with having the worst diet, researchers wrote in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Researchers said past studies that found a link between diet and dementia risk but had a follow-up period of less than 10 years might not have had accurately measured the association.
