Legislation aimed at expanding access to telehealth services beyond the COVID-19 pandemic has been reintroduced by a bipartisan group of House lawmakers. The Protecting Access to Post-COVID-19 Telehealth Act of 2021 would allow the CMS to continue telehealth reimbursement for 90 days after the public health emergency, eliminate most originating and geographic site restrictions, make disaster waiver authority permanent and require a study on COVID-19 telehealth use.
