Diabetes patients undergoing intense blood glucose control may experience an increase in the initial rate of diabetic retinopathy before seeing declines over a 90-day period, according to a study presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology virtual meeting. The findings were based on data from 21 patients with diabetes with a mean age of 50.
