Researchers used a cohort of 835 women with gestational diabetes and found that those with Hispanic ethnicity and those who had at least a bachelor's degree had an odds ratio of 3.47 and 2.79, respectively, for participating in gestational diabetes educational course, compared with white women and those with less than a college education. The findings presented at the American Association of Diabetes Educators annual meeting revealed that participation was also higher among those with gestational diabetes during a prior pregnancy.
