Patients with prediabetes who received cinnamon supplementation for 12 weeks experienced improved glucose tolerance and fasting plasma glucose, compared with those on placebo, according to a study in the Journal of the Endocrine Society. "These findings provide the rationale for longer and larger studies to address if cinnamon can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes over time," said study author Dr. Giulio Romeo.
