Researchers conducted a meta-analysis of 13 studies involving 820 patients with diabetes and heart failure and found those who received a left ventricular assist device experienced improvements in A1C and fasting plasma glucose levels and reduced daily insulin requirements after implantation. The findings were published in ESC Heart Failure.
