The HHS Office of Inspector General released two reports indicating that from 2012 through 2016, 87% of hospices were cited for deficiencies, with 20% having problems serious enough to put patient health at risk. The information has not been included on the Hospice Compare website, but the CMS issued a written statement saying that the agency "has zero tolerance for abuse and mistreatment of any patient."
