A study in Diabetologia identified the most important modifiable risk factors for stillbirth in women with pre-pregnancy diabetes. For women with type 1 diabetes, factors associated with stillbirth were higher A1C levels before pregnancy and later in pregnancy, while modifiable factors for women with type 2 diabetes were higher maternal body mass index and higher pre-pregnancy A1C.
