The American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association are awarding 10 organizations with grants of up to $900,000 via the Know Diabetes by Heart initiative to help them raise more awareness on diabetes and cardiovascular disease and launch more outreach programs, especially for Black and Latino populations. "Knowledge is power and arming these community organizations with resources and accessible information is key for people with type 2 diabetes to better understand their elevated risk for heart disease and stroke," said Dr. Robert Gabbay, ADA's chief scientific and medical officer.
