National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci said the US is not close to ending the COVID-19 pandemic, as the country reported about 73,200 new infections and almost 1,000 deaths on Tuesday. The US also marked a record for the weekly average new cases of more than 74,000 infections per day, while 41 states recorded at least 10% jump in cases compared with the previous week.
