A case series published in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that older adults with type 2 diabetes and polymyalgia rheumatica who were able to achieve and maintain glycemic control experienced considerable improvements in symptoms and laboratory measures of polymyalgia rheumatica. The findings suggest that pharmacologic management of type 2 diabetes could help improve symptoms of concurrent polymyalgia rheumatica.
