A report in Health Affairs said primary care practices could lose $15.1 billion in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with each practice losing $67,774 in gross revenues per full-time physician. "For many primary care practices, particularly those serving the most vulnerable populations, these losses could be catastrophic, with many practices being forced to close," said lead investigator Sanjay Basu, M.D.
