The CMS has proposed raising payment rates to end-stage renal disease facilities by 1.7% or $190 million next year, and the facilities also will receive an additional $30 million in Medicare copayments. The agency also proposed reimbursing for new renal dialysis drugs at a higher rate starting Jan. 1, 2019, and implementing some changes to its bidding and pricing protocols under the bidding program for durable medical equipment.
