HHS Secretary Alex Azar has declared public health emergencies in North and South Carolina in preparation for Hurricane Florence. The declaration will give health care providers greater flexibility in addressing emergency care needs and it will allow Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to "have continuous access to the care they need when the storm makes landfall," Azar said.
