A Kaiser Family Foundation study found that the percentage of seniors selecting Medicare Advantage plans in their first year is 29% nationwide, but exceeds 40% in Oregon and Minnesota. Many new beneficiaries choose MA "because it offers better service, care and value," according to AHIP spokeswoman Kristine Grow, who added "Medicare Advantage helps enrollees save money by capping out of pocket costs, offering additional benefits that traditional Medicare doesn't cover, and for many plans including comprehensive drug coverage at no additional cost."
