Women with diabetes were more likely to not take medications because of the cost, postpone filling their prescriptions, ask for cheaper medication and take less than the prescribed medication, compared with men with diabetes, according to a study in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine. The findings were based on data from the National Health Interview Survey involving 11,448 diabetes patients.
