Food insecurity may adversely affect pediatric health, development

Researchers who studied 28,184 youths ages 4 and younger found associations between food insecurity and poor or fair health as well as developmental risks. However, the findings in Pediatrics did not demonstrate a link between food insecurity and underweight, stunting or obesity, except in one instance among those ages 25 months to 36 months.
