The US Preventive Services Task Force updated a 2014 recommendation and called for referring adult patients with hypertension, dyslipidemia or mixed or multiple cardiovascular risk factors for diet and physical activity counseling, according to a report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The recommendation did not include adults with certain other CVD risk factors, such as obesity, smoking or abnormal blood glucose, because they are covered by other task force guidance.
