Low fitness levels linked to anxiety, depression

A study of more than 150,000 people published in BMC Medicine found cardiorespiratory fitness and muscle strength, and especially the two together, had a significant impact on mental health. The study, which examined factors like heart rate, grip strength, anxiety and depression, adds to a growing body of evidence that keeping physically active may help prevent or mitigate mental health problems.
