Researchers evaluated 10 patients with type 1 diabetes and found that those who ate 100g of carbohydrates daily lost more weight, had reduced hypoglycemic events and spent less time with blood glucose levels below 3.9 mmol/L over 12 weeks, compared with individuals who ate 250g per day. The findings were published in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism.
