A study in JAMA Network Open found that adults who take vitamin D3 supplements have a 17% lower risk of developing metastatic or fatal cancer than those who took a placebo but do not have a reduced risk of being diagnosed with the disease. Researchers also found that risk reduction for metastatic cancer and death is higher, at around 40%, when vitamin D3 intake is combined with weight management.
