A study from China in the Journal of Diabetes Investigation showed that adults with prediabetes and metabolic syndrome were at a significantly higher risk for major cardiovascular events, such as stroke and myocardial infarction, compared with those who had no MetS. Researchers followed 19,464 adults for an average of 10 years.
