More than 48% of adults ages 18 to 38 discovered the nonprofits they make financial contributions to through social media, while 39.8% heard about them from friends, according to a OnePoll survey conducted on behalf of the YMCA. "While Millennials are often counted out of philanthropic efforts because of lower financial contributions compared to older generations, they are in fact most likely to engage in GivingTuesday," adds Giving Tuesday CEO Asha Curran.
