In a letter to President Donald Trump, more than 100 trade groups, including the American Petroleum Institute, urged officials to provide consistent definitions of critical infrastructure that clearly state which manufacturers can operate during the coronavirus lockdown. The groups also asked states to adopt the Department of Homeland Security's definition of critical infrastructure and "take seriously the need to transport those products and have the workforce available to keep operations running."
