The US Department of the Interior says Kaktovik Inupiat's application to conduct seismic surveys for oil potential in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska is no longer valid because the company failed to identify the area's polar bear dens. The surveys, which were to be conducted by SAExploration, would have included 352,416 acres in the coastal plain.
