Starting July 2022, S&P Global Platts will incorporate West Texas Intermediate Midland crude into its dated Brent benchmark, marking the first time a crude grade outside the North Sea has been added to the price assessment. "These changes provide significant additional volume and will ensure the continued robustness of the Brent complex for the next decade and beyond," said Platts Head of Oil Markets Price Reporting Vera Blei.
