US crude stockpiles posted a 1.7 million-barrel drop last week, versus analyst expectations of a 1.4 million-barrel decline, the Energy Information Administration reported. However, gasoline and distillate supplies were up by 8.1 million barrels and 10.6 million barrels, respectively.
