The Energy Information Administration reported that US crude inventories climbed for a ninth consecutive week last week, by 1.6 million barrels, below analyst expectations for a 2.5-million-barrel jump. Meanwhile, gasoline and distillate stockpiles slid by 1.5 million barrels and 700,000 barrels, respectively.
