BOEM plans Gulf of Mexico lease sale in August

The Bureau of Ocean Management plans to make available about 14,699 unleased blocks spanning 78 million acres at a proposed Gulf of Mexico regionwide offshore lease sale scheduled for August. "BOEM's staff works hard to help ensure future development is done in a manner that addresses our nation's energy security, while protecting marine life and the environment in which they live," said Walter Cruickshank, BOEM acting director.
