The advent of hydraulic fracturing has transformed the US into a natural gas net exporter, with liquefied natural gas exports quadrupling from 500 million cubic feet per day in 2016 to 1.94 billion cubic feet per day last year, writes Chuck DeVore. LNG exports are on track to rise fivefold from 2017 levels to 9.6 billion cubic feet per day by 2019, while the value of LNG exports should climb from nearly $5 billion this year to $12 billion in 2019.
