IEA: Fossil fuels drive slight rebound in global energy investment

Increased spending on oil, natural gas and coal stabilized global energy investment to approach $1.85 trillion in 2018 following several years of decline, reports the International Energy Agency. Upstream oil and gas investments climbed to $477 billion, a nearly 4% year-over-year uptick, and overall American energy investments hit $350 billion.
