The number of US liquefied natural gas cargoes bound for China plunged by about 20% to 24 last year, down from 30 in 2017, amid mounting trade tensions and China's tariffs on US LNG. US crude oil exports to China are also affected by the trade war, although crude oil volumes to Asia are expected to increase in the second quarter as freight rates fall and domestic demand wanes.
