Venture Global LNG on Thursday received regulatory permission to proceed with its $5 billion Louisiana liquefied natural gas export terminal, dubbed Calcasieu Pass, in what marked the first approval in two years granted by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to a new LNG project. "The agreement that we struck today to break the dam open on this tricky issue gives me reason for optimism that we'll be able to move expeditiously on these other applications," said FERC Chairman Neil Chatterjee.
