Freeport LNG has applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a three-year extension to complete the 5.5-million-short-ton-per year fourth train at its liquefied natural gas export plant in Quintana Island, Texas. Train 4 had been scheduled for startup by May 17, 2023, but the company says it cannot meet that deadline because construction has not yet started and building it will take at least 42 months.
