Natural gas production from Ohio's Utica Shale increased 39% year-over-year to 6.95 billion cubic feet per day in the third quarter, with Belmont, Jefferson and Monroe counties accounting for nearly three-quarters of total output. Ascent Resources remained Ohio's most prolific driller, producing over 1.9 bcf/d in the third quarter, up from 1.2 bcf/d at the start of the year.
