George Mason University will erect a memorial to honor the more than 100 slaves owned by the Virginia school's namesake. After an extensive history project looking into the lives of slaves owned by the 18th-century lawmaker, the school has added a memorial to those enslaved by Mason to a plan to redesign the plaza in the middle of the campus.
