Marietta High School in Georgia revamped its language arts curriculum to allow juniors and seniors a choice of 11 one-semester topics such as Early Works of Stephen King, Women in Literature or Poetry of Springsteen and Friends. "I'm a Civil War re-enactor, and now I can bring my passion for that into the classroom," says teacher Gwynette Mayer of her Civil War Literature course.
