A curriculum that raises awareness of the political, social and economic contributions of the LGBT community will be piloted in 12 schools in New Jersey, ahead of a state mandate that will require the lessons in all schools in the fall. The law allows local districts to oversee how the lessons are taught to students and make updates prior to the 2020-21 school year.
