The US Supreme Court has handed down a 5-4 decision against a Louisiana law mandating that doctors who perform abortions have admitting privileges at hospitals nearby. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority that the law "imposes a burden on access to abortion just as severe as that imposed by" a similar Texas law that the high court struck down in 2016.
