A Philadelphia jury awarded nearly $28 million to a woman who said the blood-thinner Xarelto caused her to have gastrointestinal bleeding. The loss is the first for drugmakers Johnson & Johnson and Bayer, which are facing more than 20,000 lawsuits related to the drug.
