Nashville officials find HIV patients' confidential data on shared server

Confidential information about HIV and AIDS patients in 12 Tennessee counties spent nine months on a server accessible to hundreds of employees of the Nashville Metro Public Health Department. The data included HIV status, Social Security numbers and addresses, and Larry Frampton of Nashville CARES said he has filed a complaint under HIPAA, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
