An analysis of FDA and list price records showed that over 700 of the generic drugs approved by the FDA since January 2017, 43% of the total approved, are not yet available in the US, and 36% of first-time generics approved since that date are not yet available. Over 1,600 generic drugs have been approved by the FDA since January 2017, about a third higher than the number approved during the last two years of the Obama administration.
