Woodcock urges researchers to collaborate, pay attention to common diseases

Biomedical researchers need to forge better relationships with one another, regulators and physicians, FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research Director Janet Woodcock told researchers attending the Breakthroughs in Medicine conference. Common diseases are being ignored as rare diseases capture more attention, and researchers should leverage sources of big data and work with clinicians to study those diseases, Woodcock said.
