Most states do not have standards for cured-in-place pipe repair, and Andrew Whelton, a Purdue University assistant professor of civil engineering and environmental engineering, said many states are looking at standardizing construction practices. The goal is to limit the damage that the repairs inflict on the environment and wildlife.
