Media Pro's 2017 State of Privacy and Security Awareness Report showed that at least 24% of 1,009 health care employees in the US could not differentiate phishing emails from legitimate ones, while almost 18% identified phishing emails as legitimate, with an email from a suspicious "from" address that contained an image attachment as the most misidentified email. Researchers also found that 78% of health care employees were not adequately prepared to address common security and privacy threats, compared with 70% of employees across all industries.
