A study in Scientific Reports found smoking and cardiovascular disease were associated with decreased learning and memory function throughout adulthood, with the effects of smoking worse for women and the effects of cardiovascular disease more pronounced in men. The findings were based on data from more than 70,000 people ages 18 to 85.
