Older caregivers whose partners or spouses had Alzheimer's disease and related dementias had 30% more depressive symptoms than those whose partners had no ADRD, according to a study in the Journal of Applied Gerontology. "Clinically meaningful and longitudinally worsening depressive symptoms amplify the need to prioritize partner health and family-centered care following an ADRD diagnosis," researchers wrote.
